Well, the Goodreads Giveaway was a great success! I was pleased with the interest that both books garnered. Club Justice had 489 entries, while Club Ties pulled in a very respectable 386. I sent an autographed copy of Club Justice off to an excited Krystal in Pennsylvania and a copy of Club Ties has found a new home with Sharon in sunny California. I hope they will enjoy them!
The past month has been a hectic one and I wish I could say my fingers have been flying over the keyboard, but alas life has reared its ugly head and kept/distracted me from my passion. This time though, it has been a good crazy. We closed on a new house Monday! While some might question how exciting, or sane, taking on a mortgage payment might be, we are thrilled! The new house has almost everything we were looking for, from a basement man cave for the teenager, to an area for the hubby to have a wood shop, and most importantly a third bedroom that I’ve officially claimed as my new den! LOL The office of Mara McBain. Maybe I should have a nameplate made for the door. *wink* What do you think?
OH! And let’s not forget another awesome feature…IT’S OURS! LOL Okay, the seller has 30 days. I’m sure that is going to seem like an eternity to someone of my limited patience. The rest of April and May will be a blur of packing, remodeling, and moving. My dear friend Shari will be visiting for a week in the middle of May. I hope she’s ready for the chaos and brings her muscles. My writing partner and terror twin, Adri, has a birthday at the end of May that calls for a day of shopping and lunch. I’m praying we will have everything done before then so that I can race across state lines and visit her. And THEN the first weekend in June is Art in the Park in Pinckney, MI. I attended this wonderful event full of arts and crafts for the first time last summer because Pinckney is the home of my publisher, Wynwidyn Press, owned by Pinckney’s own Robin Moyer. I’m looking forward to going again this year, selling some books, checking out the wares, and meeting a lot of fun people.
That’s your update for now. I wish everyone a happy, creative, SAFE spring. I’ve shed enough tears of late. My thoughts and heart go out to Boston and to the people of West, Texas. It’s a crazy world we live in.
Love & Creativity!
